We are a small, diverse, sustainably minded farm. Our farms are located in the community of Deer Island in beautiful Columbia County situated about 500 feet above the mighty Columbia River in the northwest corner of Oregon.
Here at Misty Morning Farms our goal is sustainable organics. We carefully select our vegetable seeds, looking for organic heirloom varieties, using the best quality sources possible. Our raised garden beds are filled with organic compost and high quality amendments. We utilize companion planting and beneficial insect plant attracting concepts. Our farm animals have been chosen for their natural strengths and are integrated into the farm operation lovingly. For example, our tribe of Indian Runner Ducks roam our raised bed gardens and devour all slugs.
We also have two dozen chicken (Welsummers, Black & Gray Copper Marans, Araucanas, & true Americanas), six gentlemen Alpaca, three lovely dwarf Nigerian Goat girls and their buck, a beautiful pair of Black Welsh Mountain Sheep (ram and ewe) plus their two baby girls, an astounding pair of Gloucester Old Spot Pigs (boar and sow) along with eleven sweet piglets, and three boy bunnies... so far!
As we grow we will be offering more farm and animal products crafted in the sustainably minded manner that is vital to our thought process.
